After finishing her coursework, she went across the country to New York where she completed her doctoral internship at Manhattan Psychiatric Center, an inpatient psychiatric hospital. During that year, she worked extensively with individuals suffering from severe mental illness, co-morbid disorders, and personality disorders by providing them with individual and group psychotherapy as well as conducting cognitive and personality assessments.
