Susanna Im

Susanna Im is a second-generation Korean American from Queens, New York. She completed her MA in Counseling and MA in Christian Ministries at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Massachusetts. She also holds a MS in Biomedical Sciences with a concentration in neuroscience from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and a BA in neuroscience from Barnard College, Columbia University. She is currently working towards licensure as a clinical mental health counselor in New Hampshire.

I’m passionate about working with people from diverse backgrounds and journeying alongside adolescents, adults, and families to find meaning and empowerment in their life experiences. I have a particular interest in working with first-generation immigrant parents and their second-generation children as well as exploring the intersection of counseling and neuroscience to tailor empirically supported treatments. I hold a collaborative approach to counseling, seeking to holistically understand individuals and uphold their inherent personhood.

임이슬은 퀸즈 뉴욕에서 자란 2세 입니다. 보스턴 Gordon-Conwell 신학대학원에서 상담석사 학위를 끝내고 현재 뉴햄프셔에서 정신건강 상담사 면허를 받는 과정에 있습니다. Barnard College, Columbia University에서 Neuroscience 전공하고 Mount Sinai 의과대학에서 신경내과 석사학위도 받았습니다.

저는 이민 1세대 부모와 2세대 자녀들이 문화적으로 부딪치는 다양한 문제들을 가족상담을 통해 해결하고 관계 회복을 돕는 것에 관심을 갖고 있습니다. 가족상담 외에도 청소년, 성인을 대상으로 하는 상담도 하고 있습니다. 또한 상담과 신경학의 교차점에 관심이 있으며, 이를 통해 경험적으로 입증된 치료법을 제공하고자 합니다. 그리고 개인을 전체적으로 이해하고 다양성에 따른 문제들을 통찰하려고 노력합니다.
